Work Conditioning Program

Our Work Conditioning program is an intensive, work-related, goal oriented conditioning program designed specifically to restore an individual’s level of function up to their pre-injury level. The objective of the Work Conditioning Program is to restore physical capacity and function to enable the patient/client to return to work.

Patient/Client Eligibility
  • Client must have a job goal
  • Have a stated or demonstrated willingness to participate
  • Our Physiotherapist has identified, through clinical assessment, systemic neuromuscular physical and functional deficits that interfere with work
  • Program should not begin following one year post injury with out a comprehensive Functional Abilities Evaluation (on file or provided by us)
Service Overview
  • Program developed according to job expectations/requirements (PDA)
  • Interventions to improve strength, mobility, motor control, and endurance specific to job expectations/requirements
  • Education related to job performance and injury prevention
  • Promotion of independence/responsibility of ownership towards workplace safety
Duration of Program
  • Up to 4 hours/day
  • Up to 5 days/week
  • Up to 8 weeks

The Work Conditioning Program Assessment commences with a Clinical examination performed by our registered Physiotherapist and ARCON Objective testing is also performed by our Certified Kinesiologist to assist with determining the client’s current functional status. This will enable the practitioners to identify the client’s current deficits and strengths as they relate to their ability to return to their or any occupation identified.
