Athletic Therapy

What is Athletic Therapy?

Athletic Therapy (AT) is a health profession that covers a full spectrum of specialized therapy skills within both a clinical setting and sports field environment with a scope of practice to provide injury prevention, assessment, rehabilitation, reconditioning and immediate care of musculoskeletal disorders (muscle, bones and joints).

Athletic Therapy Rehabilitation Approach at MoveWell:

Our goal is to optimize the quality of health and performance to ensure our clients return back to their active daily lives pain free.

Athletic Therapy skills originated within a sports setting with an objective of returning athletes back to play as fast as possible. Today, Athletic Therapists apply these similar skills to their rehabilitation with a hands on and active approach, resulting in a faster recovery and decrease the likelihood of re-injury while making you stronger, efficient, healthier and pain free.

As part of our therapy services, we will also prescribe you a self-administered home program of stretching, strengthening and postural techniques to help you manage your pain and speed your recovery.

Is Athletic Therapy for Me?

The title of Athletic Therapy can be deceiving for most. We are very well known to work alongside with sport teams, but Athletic Therapist also apply their unique skills to provide effective therapeutic rehabilitation for a variety of populations including office/industrial workers, motor vehicle accidents and the general populations of all ages who are athletes at heart. You do not need to be an athlete or have an athletic injury to see an Athletic Therapist!
